How do I import my form files on my Pocket PC to the Desktop Companion?

<Back>

  1. Run SprintDB Pro Desktop Companion.

  2. Firstly, make sure you have set the "Form Path on your Pocket PC" in the Desktop Companion. To do this, select the File > Form Path on the Pocket PC menu and enter the Form folder on your Pocket PC. Normally this is: \Program Files\SprintDB Pro\Forms by default, if you've installed SprintDB Pro Pocket PC version in your Pocket PCs Main Memory. See: How do I locate the form folder on my Pocket PC?

  1. Make sure your Pocket PC is cradled and connected via ActiveSync .

  2. Select the File > Import Forms from Pocket PC menu option.

  3. This will open the "Import Form" dialog window.

  4. If a .mdb database has previously been opened in the Desktop Companion, the Desktop Companion assume that you are about to import a Form file from your Pocket PC for the currently opened database, and will automatically fill in the [Source] and [Destination] fields for the database file.

  1. If this is the file you want to import, simply click the "Import!" button.

  2. If you have not opened a .mdb database, the "Source" and "Destination" fields will be empty, and you should specify the "Source" and "Destination" file paths.

  1. You can manually fill in the "Source" field, E.g.: \My Documents\SprintDB Pro\Forms\test.RAF. Please make sure that the source form file is an existing Form file on your Pocket PC.

  2. You can also take advantage of "Source [...]" button to select the source Form file. Simply click the "Source [...]" button, and locate the Form file you want to import, and then click "Ok".

  1. You can manually enter the "Destination" field. E.g.: C:\Program Files\SprintDB Pro Desktop Companion\Forms\test.RAF. Please note that Importing a Form File will overwrite the existing file.

  2. You can also take advantage of the "Destination [...]" button to select the destination Form file. You will then be presented with a File Save-As dialog box.

  3. If you import a Form file for the currently opened database, make sure you re-open the database.

How do I export the form files on my Desktop PC to SprintDB Pro Pocket PC version?

  1. Run SprintDB Pro Desktop Companion.

  2. Select the File > Export Forms to Pocket PC menu option.

  3. You will be presented with a "Export Forms" dialog window.

  4. If a .mdb database has been opened in the Desktop Companion, the Desktop Companion will assume you are about to export its Form file to your Pocket PC, and will automatically fill the "Source" and "Destination" fields.

  1. If this is what you want to export, simply click the "Export!" button.

  2. If you have not opened a .mdb database, "Source" and "Destination" fields will be empty, and you should specify the "Source" and "Destination" fields.

  1. Enter the Source and Destination. For example, "Source" C:\Program Files\SprintDB Pro Desktop Companion\Forms\test.RAF "Destination" \Program Files\SprintDB Pro\Forms\test.RAF.

  2. You can also take advantage of [...] button to select the Source and Destination Form files.

  3. Click the "Export!" button.

  4. If you have already opened a .cdb file in SprintDB Pro Pocket PC version on your Pocket PC, and have exported its Form file, please re-open the .cdb database so that SprintDB Pro can open the database and its newly imported form file.

How do I import or export multiple form files at the same time?

  1. "Import/Export Form Files" menu option in SprintDB Pro Desktop Companion can only import or export one Form file at a time. So if you want to import or export more than one form file at a time, you need to copy them by using File Explorer.

  2. Open File Explorer on your Desktop PC.

  1. Open ActiveSync, and click the "Explore" button.

  1. On the "Mobile Explorer", locate your Form file folder, and select the Form files you want to import.

  1. Drag-and-drop the files to Desktop File Explorer.
